Thank you to so many volunteers who went door-to-door with us distributing voter guides. In an age of social media, instant polling, and “data driven” campaigns, this low-tech but high-touch approach is still very effective. In election after election in which we have distributed voter guides, turnout for conservative candidates in the areas we cover exceeds expected levels, and the 6th District was no exception.
From the Marietta Daily Journal on June 21, full article here: East Cobb helped Karen Handel win District 6; Democrats aren’t giving up:
Handel has Cobb County voters to thank in large part for her victory, according to Kerwin Swint, a political science professor at Kennesaw State University.
“The east Cobb part of the 6th District gave Handel a huge win,” Swint said. “That was the single biggest margin for her of the three counties. So there’s no question Cobb helped deliver her the win.”
In Cobb, Handel received just over 58 percent of the vote. In Fulton and DeKalb, she got 52.7 percent and 41.5 percent respectively.
The article continues:
Pollster and former state legislator Matt Towery said even though Handel lives in north Fulton, she won a higher margin in east Cobb.
“(The east Cobb) vote was essential to her in that victory,” Towery said. “She obviously did well in Fulton, but Fulton was her sweet spot. She needed to carry Cobb in a large way, and she did.”

Guess in which part of the district FFC volunteers concentrated their voter guide efforts? That’s right, East Cobb.
